No matter what the weather throws at us, the Rose Ash Revel lot are made of stern stuff! When the torrential downpour that started at around 11.30 finally cleared at about 2pm, we had a fantastic afternoon!
Although we are still "totting" up, at first glance it looks as if we have probably made about the same amount of money for our good causes as last year! So well done all in ‘very trying’ conditions!
The family dog show was well attended, the hawk display interesting, the Church was filled with various artistic contributions some edible and some not, the stalls looked splendid with the raffle and tombola doing well all day. There were about 25 gleaming classic cars on the green and the Village Hall Ladies kept everyone fed and watered and didn't even flinch when the YFC tractor run, with around 35 tractors, stomped in to the Village Hall! After drying off, they proceeded to "chomp" through pasties and bacon "sarnies".
Live music was supplied by "The Boys in the Shed" and the "Thornbirds" and as the sun eventually peeked through the thunderclouds. The Beer tent slaked the thirsts of the Revellers with draught beer, cider and of course, Pimms.
Same weekend next year, although the weather forecast looks better....?!!
